Zora Arkus-Duntov would not only serve as the original Chief Engineer for the Chevrolet Corvette but would also come to be known as the “Godfather of the Corvette” as well.

The Chevrolet Corvette is a line of American two-door, two-seater sports cars manufactured and marketed by General Motors under the Chevrolet marque since 1953.

The very first Corvette ever built was a General Motors Motorama show car first exhibited at the Waldorf Astoria in January of 1953. It was an instant hit and the first production Corvette was built on June 30, 1953 in Flint, Michigan and only 300 were built-virtually by hand and all on a pilot line.

Designer Harley Earl is at the wheel. The National Corvette Museum promotes, "Harley Earl is the father of the Corvette. The Corvette was his idea pure and simple." 70-years in the making, the Corvette has grown into a phenomenal brand and has a unique and amazing history all its own.
